Last night was pretty much a blizzard here in denver. I showed up to PLUSH not expecting anything more than a long night. The people that came out to party expected more. So being the king dj slackers that we are it seems that we havent updated the blog in quite some time....but we are still alive...barely. Dj love was out on the town with Dj DMX at Church night club for the AC SLATER & JACK BEATS show, while I was slaving away at my new residency nightclub "the basement", from what I heard it was an awesome show at church and that the old rave music is making a comeback in a big way. Beware for older raver dudes with sunvisors on.

As for myself I have been grinding as usual, now equipped with the latest video dj arsenal from Rane/serato, I been prepping my sets to bring the heat for the summer time...and holding down 2 clubs and the day job all the while... holla at ya boy some new mixes should be added shortly....recorded a set from the club last night but still need to review it before I upload it, also new mix from my boy Midge who loves to fidge.

My Evil Twin........ SISTER!

I found my evil twin. Turns out my twin is a sister. And wouldntcha knowit, she's a dj too! Allow me to introduce DJ Mear!

Her musical tastes run so similar to my own, it's downright scary! Especially her love and knowledge of old school, circa 1986-1996. She's got skills to pay the bills, and then some. We've known each other for a few years now, but recently unearthed the secret of our sibling ties that otherworldly forces have tried to keep from us - unsuccessfully - MWahahahah!!

Anyway, after a nite of blissful dancing to her underground, minimal, tech-y beats @ beta in the beatport lounge, I was compelled to the lab for some mixing.

The result is this mix, which is the second in a series called LoveBytes. Minimal meets Tech-House, in a Techno-ish sort of way.

Got Fake Blood Fever

I call it electropunk. Some call it glitch, fidget, nu-disco, indie-electro, hard electrohouse. Autokratz, Felix Cartal, Fukkk Off, Hot Pink Delorean, Bloody Beetroots, and so many other artists are pushing forward the boundaries of dance music. One of my favorite producers of this sound is Fake Blood. My latest mix features a couple of Fake Blood remixes. The mix is a cross between Electropunk, Wonk, and Crookers, who are also featured prominently. Coming up: Wonkin 2, and a full on Electropunk mix to shred your speakers and split your skull.

Thanks to Love I'm heavy in the game.... throwing down three to four nights a week since december is taking a toll on ones mental condition. We ended up spinning together at my sunday residency and managed not to play one hip hop track till around 12:30, which was nice for a change and the crowd definatley appreciated the change, although I dont believe the owner did, he loves house music just not all night in his club. No harm no foul, we still rocked that bitch...

With that said I need to play catch up to my big bro, he threw down 20 different mixes in 2008, quite a few had some hefty download numbers, I need a clone to optimize my time more effectively, or what is left of my time.... I got some new heat for you,I just need some time to lay down a mix, maybe after the long weekend and after aquiring my new lappy I can make some of you happy?
