Two new Ma5hes for your Asses

First up is Ready for the World vs Ciara, Simply titled "OH Sheila".

The group RFTW consists of vocalist Melvin Riley with Gordon Strozier, Gregory Potts,Willie Triplett, John Eaton, and Gerald Valentine. Their self-titled debut was released in 1985 and included perhaps their best-known hit "Oh Sheila", which went to number one on the R&B, Billboard Hot 100, and the Hot Dance Club Play charts that year, becoming the first ever single to hold the number one spot on all three of these charts simultaneously.

I blended the RFTW vocals over Ciara's familliar track" Oh"; and added Ciara's vocal cleverly in the background.

Secondly I present to you, my version of Lupe Fiasco's SuperStar Vs. SOS BAND - Just be good to me.

The SOS Band is an American musical ensemble, founded in Atlanta, Georgia in 1977. Originally known as Santa Monica, the "SOS" initialism in the band's name does not stand for Save Our Souls but for Sounds of Success.

The band, fronted by Mary Davis, was initially famous for the Disco hit "Take Your Time (Do It Right)" in 1980. In 1983, they joined forces with then-new production team Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, who went on to craft a string of R&B hits for the group, including "Just Be Good to Me," "Tell Me If You Still Care," "Borrowed Love," "No One's Gonna Love You," "Just the Way You Like It," and "The Finest".

The Jam-Lewis-produced SOS Band hits are notable for popularizing the use of the Roland TR-808 drum machine (and its distinctive cowbell sound) in popular music. The group continues to tour and perform to this day.

I also wanna thank every one who made it out to my Birthday Bash at club theorie this past weekend. You guys make getting older easier! I just make it look better!

I've been slackin on getting this uploaded. I've been sitting on it for about a month now. Anyway, it's for the progressive and trance heads out there. I even did the cd cover work that you see here using photos that I took while traveling 80mph along I-70 through Glenwood Canyon in the Colorado Rockies.

Dj Bert back in town!

Back from a great trip with a great friend DVD J G Funk. The trip consisted of a cannonball renegade mission to sin city, Las vegas and New Port Beach California. We slept a whole 8 hours since Friday. Pictures now up from Club Tentation the club G and I rocked on Friday night.
We banged out a night full of delightful mixes and tageed teamed with Dj boogi and DJ Karl Detken, the director of pioner Pro DJ product placement. Notably we rocked on the same stage many great dj's have rocked, like DJ AM, Armin Van Buueren, Bad Boy Bill, Cedric Gervais . Then over to vegas with G who worked the Pioneer Dome at the Toyota Scion car show with his live video mix shooting on the inside of this dome, A truly amazing mix of brilliance and talent all under one dome.

From the vault

Here are some old tracks from the vault that I transfered last night. Love says we need to incorporate more classics. So here ya go.

1st up is from the New side of Todd, "Little louie" & Kenny "Dope's" - MAW dance track comp released in 1994,

Next is Naked Music Remixes of Sade - By your side, Released in 2001 Mysterious mixes on a deep house tip, supposedly done by Miguel Migs. The label side is more relaxed, while the other side adds a juicy bassline, this is the one I uploaded because it just sounds better to me. The 'Naked' remixes of this Sade single takes it to another level of nocturnal elegance. Works well for late night lounge parties.

Last but not least from late 2003 comes WAY OUT WEST's - MuthaFucka 12" single, A Very DJ-friendly record with syncopated snare action and Ol Dirty Bastard sampled to powerful effect ("Turn that mothafucka up!"). The characteristic funky bassline is present with spacy arpeggios, maximum synth layering and floor-shaking, crowd-pleasing drum fills. With breakdowns aplenty, there are many hands-in-the air moments, one in which the boys bust out with some funky air guitar pluckage. The mood transitions from funky to spooky and back again. There is also some eyebrow-raising turntable trickery instituted with the vocal..sorry no album art available yet on this one.

I know for a fact that Freestyle or Latin Freestyle lives in the hearts of many dj's here in denver and abroad , It was also called Latin Hip Hop in its early years, is a form of electronic music that is heavily influenced by Latin American culture. Performers such as Safire, Information Society, Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam, TKA, George Lamond, and Expose are notable performers of this genre. Freestyle originated in New York in the early 80's. It continues to be produced today and enjoys some degree of popularity, especially in urban Latino and Italian American communities. Another popular modern dance music genre, Florida breaks, evolved from this sound.
The music first developed primarily in New York City and Miami in the mid-1980s. It eventually spread to many other cities with Hispanic populations. Initially, it was a fusion of the vocal styles found in 1970s disco music with the syncopated, synthetic instrumentation of 1980s electro, as favored by fans of breakdancing. It was also influenced by sampling, as found in hip hop music. In the 1990s, the electro and hip hop influences were supplanted by house music.
